This Masterclass is the second in a series of three aimed at providing a better understanding of some of the ICA White Papers. The three Masterclasses deal with the following White Papers:

Topic of Masterclass No 2

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) White Paper explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). It provides an overview of core AI types relevant to urban safety, analyzes potential risks when these technologies are integrated into CPTED strategies, and proposes a new framework for ethical AI use in CPTED practice. By grounding analysis in human-centered values and lived experience, the paper outlines a proactive roadmap for the International CPTED Association (ICA) to engage, guide, and govern AI’s influence in crime prevention design.

The professional version has 30 AIA-accepted Health Safety Welfare (HSW) credits for architects and is accepted as a continuing education credit course for law enforcement certification, urban planners, landscape architects, and security directors needing credits for their Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from ASIS International. The course is offered every semester as an online E-Learning class that, upon your successful completion, issues a recognizable nationally accepted certificate signed by Randy Atlas, Ph.D., FAIA, CPP.
